We are all solid and we are all frequency.
How can this be? Each solid is composed of vibrating atoms giving the composite its own special vibration. When I did research into the structure of molecules I used a Nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer (NMR). NMRs can detect the resonating frequencies of matter. Using these instruments I could tell from the specific frequencies which atoms were present, what their neighbors were and eventually what their structure was.
These instruments are more commonly known for their medicinal applications. They are used in the solid state and known as MRIs medically and used to detect irregularities in the human body.
From the microscopic point of view matter has characteristic frequencies.
These frequencies add up to a special frequency for the specific whole organ or body.
Where am I going with this? Well, It is well understood and accepted that color is known to be associated with frequencies. Each color has its own vibrational frequency and defining wavelength. These frequencies interact with our bodies on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.
There has been literature over at least the last 60 years that has pointed to colors having a healing effect on the human body when interacting with it. Today I am focusing on the effects of red light.
What are the benefits of red light therapy?
The 1st chakra is the color red and is associated with survival and grounding. Red light is used in light therapy for chakra work and is considered to give us energy, revitalize the circulation. It stimulates all types of appetites and has hence been used to advertise restaurants as well as attract a partner. It is also considered to give you confidence and increase assertiveness.
Red can be incorporated into your life via many avenues: eating the color, wearing red, pictures containing red, looking at red flowers, visualizing red light surrounding you and focusing red on parts of your body that need more energy.
Red light is also being studied in more conventional medicine. It is being experimented with to treat conditions like psoriasis, Alzheimer, caner and pain. Red light stimulates the mitochondria which power our cells. In this way it has long range effects on the physical body. The near Infra-red light is found to penetrate the skin to a deeper level and hence is used for difference applications.
Salons with red light beds are said to help reduce cosmetic skin issues, for example stretch marks and wrinkles, while red light therapy used in a medical office may be used to treat more serious conditions, such as psoriasis, slow-healing wounds, and even the side effects of chemotherapy. In 2001 NASA discovered that red and near Infra Red Near IR light has strong cellular regenerating effects (Whelan 2001).

Color therapy is becoming more popular and there are more options to choose from. I love the color cards The secret Language of Color Cards by Inna Segal covering some of the emotional and spiritual effects of the various colors together with great visuals of the colors. It is fun to pick a card and do the associated meditation.
See what you can find on color – especially the color red and how it could help your body, mind and spirit.
